This week I cast on Simple Straight Skirt by Churchmouse Yarn and Teas in Wool of the Andes Flagstone Heather. I am so excited! I have been wanting to knit this skirt (my first attempt at knitting a skirt) but had to finish my Christmas project knitting first.
The waistband is at the top, and I have knitted about two inches of the front panel. You knit the waistband, fold it over and knit together, insert elastic and now the elastic is completely enclosed in the waistband. Then you divide and knit the front and back panels separately, then seam together.
It is pretty mindless knitting now, which was nice after a long day at work and a tough 7 mile interval run yesterday afternoon. I was ready to just crash in the chair after supper!
I am looking forward to seeing your finished skirt, it will be great!
ReplyDeleteWhat an ambitious project. I never would have thought of a skirt. I can't wait to see it.
ReplyDeleteWell you are very brave! I would not dare start anything like a skirt - looking forward to seeing your progress :)
