Well....I didn't get as much knitting done as I had hoped last weekend. I did something I had never done before--knitted my second sock two inches too short (I miscounted repeats). I was so stunned. I had even woven the ends! UGH!!! I just sat and breathed for about five minutes. Then I grabbed the scissors, cut off the toe and put the live stitches back on the needles. I tinked out the toe decreases and started knitting again.
I am happy to report this story does have a happy ending:
I wore them Wednesday and they really fit well.
I also started on a hat for my oldest son. It is in "That Bird in Seattle" by KnitMona. I'm just knitting a basic beanie.
LOVE your socks! That yarns is just too cute. I did that once.... made one sock too short. Thankfully yarn is very forgiving. It's more difficult to correct mistakes made with fabric. Your hat is going to be cool, too. My daughter is a big Sea hawks fan.
ReplyDeleteOh you poor baby. I'm not sure I would have handled it so well. I have not made two socks exactly alike YET, but when I learn to do them 2 at a time, I hope that will help. Yours turned out very nice.
ReplyDeleteLove the socks!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had enough yarn for a fix. Those socks are really cute. You could probably sell your "bird" socks and many more pair, too. Now I need to check out your yarn source!
