Work Travel = Knitting Time!

Wow I was on work travel for three weeks.  I really got a lot of knitting done!
This is the Dead Fish Hat.  I wanted to attend a class at my local yarn shop, but the class was offered while I was gone.  I decided to give it a try.  Coveted Yarns in Gloucester had a sample knitted up, and the woman at the shop showed me how to do the wrap and turns for the short rows.  I used several colors of Cascade 220.  It really knits up quickly.  I still need to add the two pectoral fins and eyes to finish. Will be a Christmas gift maybe.

This will be another Easy Folded Poncho.  I decided to add stripes at the end.  Wish I had thought about stripes sooner.  They were fun!  I still need to block and mattress stitch the side.  I am hoping this will be a Christmas gift.  Also knit from Cascade 220.

And I almost finished a pair of socks too!  Apologies for the low contrast background.  These are just ribbed socks with the fish lips kiss heel in Opal yarn.  Weird striping pattern, but fun.  Can't wait to wear them.

It was a long time for me to be out of my "nest", but I am so glad I got so much done.

  1. Good for you for figuring out that heel! You sure got a lot done while you've been gone.

  2. Some great knitted items this week. Love those bright colorful socks! Opal yarn is so soft and knits up beautifully.
