Design Wall Monday

So now the struggle begins...

Machine quilting the twin size Splendid Sampler quilt on my domestic machine!

I already machine quilted the grid of the blocks along the sashing.  Now I want to quilt the details of each block.  I've done 3 of 80 blocks.  Wrangling the quilt on my machine is frankly stifling.  I'm not really into it yet.  I'm hoping I will start to get in the groove.  I decided to cut myself some slack and not power sew.  I think yesterday I just sat and stared at it for an hour.

I will work through it, just not all in one stretch.

  1. How to eat an elephant......one bite at a time. I have the blocks made for the Splendid Sampler but haven't decided on setting them, so I am nowhere near your struggle. I am cheering you on from the sidelines right now. You go girl!! You can do it!,

  2. Hi - oh, I feel your pain. Like Judy said, one bite at a time. I love the colors that we can see. Just give yourself plenty of break, and think about the next quilt along that will be starting in two weeks. I'm planning on playing along with that one - a lap size! ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I laughed at your comment about spending an hour just looking at it. I admire that you're quilting on your domestic machine because it's so tricky. I'm a hand quilter but the couple of quilts I've done by machine have been a struggle so I do sympathize.
