Gingersnap

I have been wanting to knit this sweet pattern for a while.  It is by Kristen Rettig, of Knitionary fame.
I have some Louet Gems in white that I scored in a rummage sale, so I went to Mobile Yarns in search of some additional colors to add.  Heidi fixed me up with some Plymouth DK Merino in green and yellow.  I wanted to make a gender-neutral sweater, but I think this still says "boy" to me.

So far this is knitting up very quickly--I just started 6 days ago.

I just started the left (?) front, and I LOVE the little buttonholes!  I have never knitted button holes, so this is exciting.  They came out just perfect!
So sweet!

I am really enjoying this pattern.  I don't have a baby in mind for the sweater, so I will just add it to the baby gift stash.

  1. Oh I have been a knitter for years; but just lately my hands have given me grief so I can only do a few rows at a time (aaargh--drives me crazee!!) I like the buttonhole band a lot--very nice hugs, Julierose
