New York Beauty Design Wall

I had the best sewing weekend!  Judy Holley (of Gulf States Quilt Assn) taught a scrappy New York Beauty class at my guild on Saturday.  Lots of fun!  I like that you can use some of those wild and funky prints in the larger pieces of the block, as long as you have good contrast in the points.

I've made 3 so far.  80 makes a queen sized quilt.  I think the blocks are 9" or 10".

Today I was digging in my sewing room.  I wondered what was in a box, opened it up and ......
it's another New York Beauty!  This is New York Beauty Diversified, from a Linda Hahn class I took in 2013.  I think I figured out where I left off, so I got nine blocks ready to sew.

I am SO excited!  My quilting mojo really got a boost this weekend.  Too bad I have to go to work in the morning.

  1. Oooh! Love NYB in all its variations, especially your new nine-spike version. I made my first NYB last year and really want to make another. Thanks for the inspiration.

  2. You must really like that pattern. I believe I have a few New York beauty patterns but am too scared to start them. Yours are going to be beautiful when you are finished.
