Happy Fourth of July!

I decided to finish this UFO that has been languishing in my pile.  I thought this would be a fast and easy wall hanging.  NOT!  I tried to hand sew the pieces together and that was a complete train wreck.

So, I decided to use the English Paper Piecing Method.  I cut out paper templates, basted each fabric piece to the paper, and am now whip stitching the seam allowances from the back.  It won't be ready for the Fourth, but maybe I will still get it finished by the end of the month.

  2. Oh, WOW! I think EPP is the way to go with this one for sure. It's BEAUTIFUL, though -- one of the best patriotic flag projects I've seen. Good luck with it!

  3. I love this flag, and want to make one. I agree, English paper piecing would be best.

Would you mind adding a link back to http://smallquiltsanddollquilts.blogspot.com within your post somewhere? It helps quilters who check out your Design Wall Monday post to be able to link back to my blog and then look at the next design wall. Thanks!
