Design Wall Monday

My "Grow Your Own" border project is on the wall today.  My guild started a new project:  You make a center block 18"-36" and each month you design a border for it.  This first border was to be made of squares.  I decided to make a border of half square triangles in a zig zag pattern.  My center is 18" square.  I actually drew it on graph paper.  I made twice as many HSTs as needed.  How did that happen???  IDK

So yesterday I put the borders on the center.  I thought I had mis-judged and then made each row shorter.  Then I realized I was right the first time, so I had a beer and put them all back together.  Then our friends had us over for wine and cheese, and I was useless.

Will put the last border back together tonight.  You can see the missing portion on the left.  The next border installment is revealed in two weeks.  I am actually ahead!
